This drivel is probably best left in ‘Olds’ rather than ‘News’ but it seems to have raised its head on this platform.

Why not join 3.5 million other people who each month apparently on average consume a massive one minute of what GB News serves up?

I mean what could be a better use of your time than to watch two arrogant, patronising presenters try and ridicule a young climate activist who is nevertheless doing a good job at putting across information?

Apparently it’s a real laugh to talk about how many people die due to extremes of weather, and entertaining to tell the climate activist, who is quoting from UN and WHO sources, to ‘grow up’.

Well they lured me in didn’t they?! I’ve watched a 7.5 minute clip which I think means, on average, I don’t need to go anywhere near this derisory outlet for another 6 months or more. But who wants to be average? Let’s make it longer.

Imagine all the academics fighting their way through peer review to get a paper published that might get a handful of citations; meanwhile mainstream media has access to millions of voters’ minds every day. If impact is what matters, we need more heroes like this young activist. Moreso still we need better journalism.
