In today’s episode of What The Hell Is Going On we hear from UK ministers and the UN Secretary General.
Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General (20 September): Humanity has “opened gates to hell” by letting climate crisis worsen
Mark Harper, UK Secretary of State for Transport (2 October): “There’s nothing wrong with driving”, “We can decarbonise and maintain our freedoms”
Graham Stuart, UK Minister of State for Energy Security and Net Zero (8 November): “There is nothing fundamentally wrong with oil and gas, it’s emissions from oil and gas that are the problem and that we must focus on.”, “I don’t think supply is the key driver – it is demand we need to focus on”
Stuart we’re told is off to COP28 later this month. Given his fossil fuel industry playbook lines above I imagine he could fit in well.
See you in hell.
