⚠️ URGENT calling all metalheads – prepare the shield wall 🤘 Trump is taking the fight to metal. Stand strong warriors of the world, as well all know, metal is a worldwide community around which you cannot build walls.

I was shocked this week to see Trump contemplating metal tariffs. Having just got my ticket to see Slayer this summer I’m happy to contribute to that US import to the UK. But if Trump thinks tariffs on European metal coming to the US is going to harm us he doesn’t have a headbanging clue.

Sure – we love US metal (except for W.A.S.P. that went full MAGA), but we have plenty of European metal to go around. For example Ukranian metal band Jinjer. Watch out masculine energy fans, the lead singer is female. And it is going to blow your mind to listen to Ukranian punk-metal band Death Pill, because they are all female! And we have Death Metal and Black Metal in abundance in Scandinavia. The Vikings have beserkers who are ready to stand tall in the name of metal.

So if you are putting tariffs on metal then you may be harming metal brothers and sisters in the U.S. because they will have to pay more for the glorious new albums coming out of Europe. For example Blood Dynasty from Arch Enemy in Sweden coming out later in March. I hate to break this to you, but the lead singer is female AND she is Canadian. Oh my lord!

I’m compiling this post with my glass ‘Motorhead’ tankard next to me. Aha, you might think – it says ‘American Pale Ale’. Well rest assured I’ll not be drinking any pale ale from America. First of all, Motorhead Road Crew is brewed in the North East of England. Ha! Secondly, I’m actually drinking, just to be sure, Northern Monk ‘Faith’, also brewed in the North East of England.
